Default one hid light doesnt work. help

I installed my hid kit today on my headlights and both lights turned on however, whenever my car was running if i turned it from either auto or on to off then tried to turn them back on the right headlight would not turn back on unless i unplugged it from the ballast and plugged it back in. Does anyone know what might have caused this problem? I tried using a different ballast and also tried installing it without the relay to see if those were the problems and it still did the same thing. could it be the bulb thats messed up?

In my finding i would not use auto at all but few things do you have a relay or cancerlers in it and sometimes you can plug them in the wrong way the harness looks like this

the 2009-2011 have alot of problems with hid's but if it comes on at all then its not the bulb ot ballest

Typical problem. HID's don't play well with the CanBus system. The HID power draw is low and the stock system things a bulb is out, so it cuts power to that circuit. I have had the same problem and have tried 4 different kits and probably 7 harness arrangements.

However, all is not lost. Several firms say they have the solution. Me being an experienced skeptic am not sure about these claims but one of our members, CdnoilRAM, says his problems were solved by using a set from RetroSolutions.

Good luck!

i have the relay on it and we actually tried it without the relay and had the same problem and also when we switched out different ballasts. i just find it hard to believe that 2 different ballasts that were unused were bad. but its possible.

My ballasts tested out fine but I still had the problem. Not that this is your case (I guess two can be bad at the same time) but understand there's more to it than just a bad electrical component.
