What do you guys think of angle cutting the pipe and then turning the the other way to make like a 90 degree turn?

^ what they are saying is correct. The stock pipe is SS, it has mandrel bends, and the diameter is about as perfect as it gets for the application. Whether you have the single or dual exhaust, they are both great. The weak points of the exhaust (ignoring the manifolds) are the y pipe and the muffler. I would actually bet that the stock exhaust with just a magnaflow muffler installed(keeping stock resonators) would perform better than their cat back, because they use 2.5" duals on the cat back where oem is 2.25". The 2.25" provides more than enough flow, but has smaller diameter so gives higher exhaust gas velocity. Of course the difference here will be slight if even noticeable, but my point is you don't need to spend the money on a cat back, and it technically may even perform worse.

Well i was hoping to save some money in not having to buy a lot of mandrel. How much would i need to go from right after the cats into the new y?

You can cut and weld straight pipe to make bends, if you do several sections it will be decent. The more sections you do, the better it will be. This is a lot of work. You'd probably need 1 180 deg bend worth of mandrel pipe, that you could cut and piece together to do that section. Would cost you around $30-$40 probably to buy and ship that one piece to your house.

You make a very good point. I didn't realize that our pipes where all SST and I obviously was too lazy to just get my butt under it and look. I am just going to go with a muffler and can a cat back. Also off another post that SNRUSNAK(sorry if I misspellled) put I agree and don't see that there is any point of going up in only .25" in diameter is going to make a much of a difference. I appreciate your imput and I will be more than happy to save myself a few hundred bucks on a pointless exhaust system. Hopefully here after the holidays I will be ordering a new muffler! Thanks again guys!
