I just ordered mine for $27 and am getting installed next Saturday for $60. Not a bad deal at all. And they are welding in s.s. pipe from the cats to the y pipe. I am keeping the stock muffler because I don't want the noise, it gets old after a while.

Default Y-pipe on a 2500?

I think I've decided to use a Magnaflow 5"x11" oval 22" muffler, part # 12589 on my 2011 2500 4x4 Hemi C/C. They make a lot of mufflers, anyone see an issue with this one for this application, or think another Magnaflow is better? I'm still not sure if the Y pipe should be replaced, mine looks as bad as the pics of all the 1500 stock Y pipes I've seen. In another thread I've been told the Y-pipe is not as big an issue on the 2500. Anyone know for sure? Here is pics of mine

Compare to the pics of the 1500 before and after pics on page 1 and let me know what you think.

I doub't I'll get charged much more to get it welded in (I was quoted $50 for the muffler), so should I spend another $30-$60 and get the Y replaced as well? Would it be the same one, 2.5" in and 3" out, #10778?

I just stumbled across this and thought I would share.

http://www.mandrelbendingsolutions.c...sh-Pipe/Detail

It is another Y-pipe that is only $20. Might only be $7-8, but every little bit helps! They also stock other mandrel bend pieces. Wish I would have known about them about when I ordered mine. Oh well, I am always a day late and a dollar short

I already have the Magnaflow Y at the house. If I would have seen this one first I would have probably went ahead and got it. Just wish I had seen the mandrel bend pieces sooner. They were about $10 cheaper each then the ones I got.

Don't see a diameter that matches the factory specs.

Isn't the factory opening 3" at the single end and 2.5" at the double end?
