Default Tint your taillights the easy way

I wanted to share to you all what I believe is the best way to tint your taillights. I would highly recommend not painting your taillights. Mostly due to the fact you cant undo paint.

For instance if you accidentally spray a few too many coats and eventually you get a ticket and now you need to fix it with new taillights.

Go online and buy your self some taillight tint. Yo can buy different shades and colors. Taillights are much easier to do than windows due to that fact you wont see air bubbles as white spots. Use a hair dryer or heat gun to pull out wrinkles. A big thing to remember is take your time and use a lot of spray solution. You will get those wrinkles out.

A few more reasons I would recommend tint instead of paint: You will always get even coverage, It can always be removed for resell, It can be removed for leagle reasons for lighter tint. And its much easier make perfect than paint, no bugs, dust and paint runs to worry about.

You may have a few water spots left in the tint. Just poke the big ones with a needle or razor blade. Most of the little one will disappear after a day in the sun.

Heat will allow you to wrap every edge perfectly.

I recommend leaving extra on the back just to help it from peeling away.

Where did you find the tint from? Im def with you as far as the pros vs cons of tint vs paint. When eventually do/have mine done I want to leave the reverse clear (i have blue bulbs) and I think it looks cooler clear anyway.

The only problem with tint is i dont have a steady enough hand to cut a nice straight line :/

I am thinking about cutting out the part for the backup light, I think I could do it with a steady hand. I also do have some left over for the 3rd brake light, I will probably do that next. I was also thinking about doing the fog lights but I took a peek how to get them off and I was not pleased with how difficult it looked.

I think the tint is more durable than paint. This taillight tint is much thicker and more rubbery than window tint. I paid $30 for the tint.

I buy all of my tint from rvinyl. They seem pretty reasonable and have a lot to chose from.

They look more glossy in person then they do in the pictures. I would say there just as glossy as my windows.

That is exactly the problem I had when I used vinyl tint on my tail lights. It got scratched and I had to redo it. The second time it got scratched I said forget it and went with VHT spray. It is much easier to repair than damaged vinyl tint.

Tint spray comes off very easily with brake cleaning spray. Doesn't hurt the plastic, I have done mine twice.

I have done a couple sets for guys along with my own with the VHT spray and they love it. And like you said, easy to remove if there is a problem.
