so if i do this mod do i have to use a tuner afterwards? will the computer compensate on its own?

The third gen rams don't have an electric fan on the radiator like the 4th gens do, so you can't adjust it.

Thats correct, it can be done on 3rd gens but most i have seen do it install an electric fan.

*Update*

I've been using the thermostat for a few months now, and the temperature usually sits around 184-188 while driving/sitting in traffic. Haven't noticed any change in gas mileage, seems like i may have lost a few tenths but i average around 16 mpg on mixed highway/city driving.

would this part number be the same for my 08? its winter here and right now its 33 degrees so i wont do this till spring but want a heads up

i was looking at the pic of your stock one to your new 180 degree....i went to a lube shop out here and bought a 180 degree but from the pics you put up...mine doesn't look like your 180 degree...? did i get ripped offfff?

I would get the autozone part # i got and get that 1. Urs looks different. Try and see if it will fit. If not then use the autozone 1. Take whichever 1 u don't use!
