Default This ram put me through hell

Nothing would separate the trans from the motor... I had to pull them together.. It took a air hammer outside the truck to get the motor and trans apart.

What happened? looks like a fairly new truck. Its at least an 02. Hydrolocked? or just old and tired? Where are you located? could be that its not the truck's fault, but the road salt from a series of harsh winters. Looks to be the case judging by the rust.

Bought it "seized"... Head gasket issue that they kept driving for a year. When I pulled the water pump there were chunks of metal (10-15mm in size) in the coolant... I am going to pull the heads to see the damage tomorrow.

The engines are ridiculously over priced for these(2002-2003). $1800-
$2200 ebay $2200-$2700 local.. So I bought a rolled Jeep for the engine and to part out.

Truck was $1100... Jeep was $1200 ... With my calculations I should end up with the truck for free or even make money if everything goes right.

I can't believe that you didn't take off the hood to pull the engine
I get rid of anything that gets in the way, on some vehicles i have even pulled the fenders to stuff an engine in a tight compartment

Hmm, What motor? I agree they are overpriced, but if its a 360CI you can get one out of an older truck.

Its a base truck... Its a 3.7... I am pretty sure 02-03 share the same tone wheel and are incompatible without major work with any other year.

Hmm...I suppose I coulda looked at the header and figured it out

I cant believe the 3.7 would be that hard to find cheap. and you are right about the 3.7 being incompatible. That might be why they are so expensive.

That was my first thought looking at the pic, but looks like quite the project there, good luck!
