Default HID relay buzzing?? Anyone know a remedy

i installed my hids from hidextra, heads and fogs and so far have been nothing but problems. Now my headlights are in and only when the truck is running and the headlights are on the relay is making a loud buzzing sound that is definitley going to be intolerable. Anything from anyones experience that i can troubleshoot??

No worries, after some research just went to radio shack and purchased a 470u 35v cap and bridged between pole 85 and 86 in the relay and it worked like a charm, no more buzzing at the cost of $1.49, but with plenty of aggrevation

i did replace the relay, i happen to order 2 relays just in case but it wasnt that. apperently with these trucks it send pulses of electricity which long story short make the relay buzz, i dunno, im no genius with stuff like this but as long as it worked im happy, i just hope they hold up now otherwise im ripping it all out and going stock with no headaches

Tell me about it....I have been through 4 sets and 7 different harness arrangements (resistors, caps, relay, trigger wires, etc...) and still have a problem with flicker. For now, my low beams are wired independently of the factory harness with a separate switch. Works good but I want to use that switch for a second set of aux lights.

So, I'll have to find another HID supplier that has figured out the CanBus voltage issues.

Its not the relay, its the trucks electrical system. Our trucks have a pulse modulated electrical signal. What is happening is the computer is sending out a electrical signal that looks more like a AC sine wave compared to a DC sine wave.

Here is the difference between the 2 waves:

http://www.kpsec.freeuk.com/acdc.htm

What this is doing is causing your relay to turn off and on at a very rapid rate causing a Buzz or chatter. The relay requires a constant 12v and with the pulses the coil in the relay opens and closes.

Only real way to solve this issue is to install the capacitors so they can store extra current and keep a constant 12v going to the relay to keep it closed!

Hope this helps.

Would it be possible to get pictures of what you're talking about? I'm experiencing the exact same thing right now but I'm less electrically inclined??
