Default AFE Stage 2

Just installed my AFE Stage 2 kit on my truck. Seems to have opened her up a bit. Has a nice growl from under the hood. The old butt dyno says much better. You can really hear it when you open the throttle. Purchased it from Amazon for $220. Have the AFE pre filter en route.

Oiled is supposed to flow a bit more air. Just have to spritz it with a bit of oil after cleaning, no big deal to me.

I've read mixed reviews on the AFE, but for 220 I'm tempted to pull the trigger!

From my udnerstanding dry flow filters are the best. They allow more airflow and never have to worry about overoiling it and then the oil clogging or blocking the MAF/MAP sensor. Only reason to run an oil filter is if your driving your truck in areas that I drive my quad. Stops a bit of the water from passing and catches dust and dirt. If your truck sees only street then your fine with a dry flow. Its more money for a reason.

I would suppose that if you had an oiled filter you could opt not to re-oil it after you clean it. When I opened the filter package I felt no obvious oily residue. Seemed like just a slight oiling. I also am putting the pre-filter on, so the oil is not a large concern.

Just out of curiosity, where are you ordering the pre-filter from? Did you have to order from aFe directly?
