Default options for black headlights on my 09??

So, I am going with a black wheel and trim theme on my truck. I really like the look of the aftermarket style "blacked out" type headlights, but I have zero experience with lights and electrical systems.

This is sort of the look I am talking about, not necessarily these exact ones, but something with black housings like these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/09-10-DODGE-RAM-...item3cb5676c10
...but I am open to suggestions! Halo's and LED's are cool, but I can live without them too, I mostly just want the black look!

I have been doing some research, and some reading on this forum, but the more I read the more confused I am about this!

I do not understand alot of the terminology being used, but even more concerning is all the headaches and horror stories I'm hearring about ANY attempt at messing with the lights on these trucks!

I spoke to my local auto electronics instal guys, and they said that it is basically a nightmare trying to get aftermarket lights to work with these trucks!

From what I gather you cannot simply swap out so much as a lightbulb on these things without custom wiring jogs, let alone the whole headlight assembly! ....I don't understand why this is?

Is there anyone that makes an assembly that just swaps in to replace the factory one, that actually works without fogging, glitching, flickering, not working in the cold and such??

PLEASE HELP!

Default head lights

well i know i saw a set of one piece head lights that the fronts were smoke just like a head light cover built in on ebay. i also wouldnt do a hid kit way complex and you actually reduce youre vision along with other motorist. halo and led are in my opion ugly and they serve no purpose other than looks. the projector side of it i havent heard to may things about or read to many things about them. as for replace ments i just got a whole stock set up for 148 on ebay silicone to make shure they are water tight and a lenze cover or something to reduce uv rays yellowing the lens is my advice.

im not a fan of these for the 4th gens because of how square the lights are, alot of people are pulling them apart and painting parts of the iterior of the headlight and putting back together...its a nice look!

Yeah, covers or tinting would be nice, but it's highly illegal where I live. I need headlight units that have black housings on the inside, I think.

I've been told that the 09 and up rams have some kind of sensors in the headlights that do not work well with aftermarket stuff.?!

I've heard of people "cracking open" their factory units and painting them themselves, but I hear that it's easy to mess up and get condensation problems.?

Any pictures of these around?

How hard is it to do without messing them up?

So.... has anyone here been successful in swapping or modding a quad headlight on an 09 or newer ram???

All I've been hearing is bad things. And I'm not sure what my options are.
