Default No cluster? No lights!?

Hey guys,

I have been searching for hours tonight for the problem that has happened to me today. I was parking my truck when I realized that my cluster went completely off. I have gauges but all my warning lights are on, also the gauge lights and headlights come on automatically. I have no hi/low beams, horn, turn signals, cruise control, hazards, wipers, washer pump or anything. This is on a 2005 1500

I have checked all fuses, checked harness' into the fuse box. I actually moved the fuse box over and made sure all connections were tight. So than I checked all the conections on the back of the cluster and they were tight.

Before my headlights would not turn on with the switch until I moved some wiring and now they will. I also have hi/low until i start the truck.

I have my odometer reading and gear select until I turn the truck on than I just get the message " NO BUS".

So what else can this be? Any help guys as I have 100km+ a day for work and right now I can get a ticket anytime!

Thanks, Josh

My money is on the FCM but a couple other components could be to blame. Get the modules in the truck scanned for codes and go from there.

I have a superchips programmer that says there is no codes. I am going to hook up a snap on code reader today to find out if it says anything different.

Also where exactly is this FCM? I may have been touching it last night but it was dark and -30 out so I didnt fool around for to long.

is the FCM part of the fusebox? exact same thing happenned to me last year (and coincidentally, happenning now)...I tried a ton of stuff then remembered a buddy had this happen to him back in 06, ended up changing the fuse box (I think fcm is on it)...i got a fusebox from salvage and it solved the problem. I'm getting another one sent to me hopping it's the same issue...

I have to agree with Randy's ..the FCM/fusebox will be your culprit..

and this is something you should address soon...mine use to run normal depite the fact that it was acting possessed... then one time on the highway it was doing it again and my truck just shut down..then it would do it again... I got it home and waited for the fcm/fusebox to come and as soon as i installed it...it worked great...(until today..lol, but now, I know what to change instead of going through a slew of exercises before finding the problem)

well guys, thanks for the input. I actually got into an accident on friday when I drove backwards into a suv. So I parked the truck and told the insurance company of my gauges now and they are going to take it and have a look. I told them it must be because of the accident so i guess I will see.
