Default magnaflow muffler

Magnaflow muffler model # 12198. I can buy this muffler on ebay for $90 free shipping. Mufflex has this same muffler but has extentions to bolt on to tail pipe for $235. My question is this the same muffler if so my buddy owns a muffler shop and can make the extentions cheaper then $235. What should i do. Listened to both magnaflow and flowmaster on youtube and like the magnaflow better cause it sounds like it has a deeper tone. Is this correct

I already have the factory duals so thought if this was the same muffler as in the whole system i could save so money. Having a 2 month old every little bit helps

I have to agree. If you have a buddy in that line of work then why not save some money??? You can put that towards another mod!

No, they are pretty much just for looks. I would keep the factory tips since I haven't found a set that are reasonably priced and look good.

I am hoping after 2 years they determined if they got tips or not

Just messing around. And tips will slightly change the sound and tone. With my super 44 when I did my final exhaust change up with resonator delete (second time), but this time with mandrel pipe all the way back and a 5" tip.. the 5" changed it's sound noticeably. Especially when coming from no tip.
