it will void the warranty for the part of the system that you replace. for instance if it is a cat back, then the warranty will be voided only for the part of the exhaust which is no longer stock, which would be after the catalytic converters

Under the Magnusson-Moss Act, buyers and sellers have rights and responsibilities with respects to warranty.

Let's say you install a catback exhaust system and a week later your audio head unit refuses to work. They can't void the warranty due to the exhaust mod as it did not cause the head unit to fail.

Conversely, let's say you installed a supercharger and a month later, you blow a rod bearing apart. Now you may not have a warranty as there is reasonable cause to believe that mod caused the failure. The burden of proof that it didn't falls on you. The burden of proof that it did falls on the manufacturer.

So, an exhaust system installed does not automatically void your warranty.

I can't pick a system for you as it's pretty subjective with respects to what sounds good to you vs. what sounds good to me. I'd check out some of the clips here in the mod section/exhaust and some of the clips on youtube to get a better idea of what different systems sound like.

MADDOG is right about the warranty... Now about the exhaust, check this site out, this is what I'm going with, should have it this wednesday. It's cheap, Great name brand, Do it yourself or pay someone to install it, take it off and put factory back on if you sell or are super worried about warranty issues. I went with the DOD14M, there is a video clip of it and it sounds awesome...
