Default 1/2 inch wheel spacer on 2010 4x2. Longer Wheel studs?

Anybody know the specs on stock wheel studs on a 2010 1500? I'm looking and it seems to have plenty of meat to support a 1/2 inch free standing wheel spacer?

If not recommended, where can i get good longer wheel studs?
Tough to install?
Can i use stock chrome clads and nuts with longer studs with no wheel spacer should then decide to remove the spacer?

What performance, mpg cost, alignment or handling problems can I expect if I had a 1/2 to my offset all the way around?

I'm looking for a more aggressive stance and would evently like to run 305/55/20s

I can see your not a mechanic or serious wrench turner . Not grease embedded in the skin , nothing under the finger nails . My fingers get clean like that when I'm on vacation . Then when I go back to work , I try to wear gloves to keep my paws clean . It never works out though .

Ha.. I just had them done.

Off topic, but a few years back I painted the bed on an old F150 using Herculiner and spent a full week with that paint on my hands. Was concerned it would actually never come out so I went searching online and found the funniest automotive online post I've ever read. I can't work with gloves.. but will tell you... wear gloves when using Herculiner!

How do I remove Herculiner off my Hootus?!

So funny, that somebody took the time to create a short cartoon movie on the long dialog at some point.

I've never used wheel spacers, but I've changed lots of wheel studs. The are pressed in to place, so to remove them you just push them back thru the mounting plate. It does take some effort, but soaking them with WD40 or equal for a while they can usually be tapped out with a hammer. My local "Car Quest" has always had any size I needed. Just tap the new ones in place.

Yeah, it does not seem like a big deal (there's a good youtube how to), I just want to make sure If I put new longer studs ones in they can still be used in the stock setup.

Looking tthe stock rims which are steel with plastic chrome coated clad they seem to have a much thinner base than typical aluminum rims

Is it just me, or does it look like I'd have no problem squeeing in the 1/2 inch spacer with thos stock studs?

thinking of aluminum rims and how fat the base usually is as Alloy is lighter, but not stronger than steel.

Mine isn't a 2010, but I run a 1/2" spacer with my SRT style wheels on my 06 and use the stock lugs and studs. I too was concerned about it and read several places that a minimum of 7 threads were required...I got 8 with my spacers.

Thanks! - That's great news! It's hard to teall how many treads I will have as rim nut entry is recessed a bit. Or is that just 8 full turns?

If I may ask where did you get you your wheel spacer? Aluminum? Wheel or hub centric issues at all?

Why did you add them? so you could have put on wider/bigger tires?

did you notice anyting visually when they are on? Does the truck look more agressive? Any issues at all? Did you have to align front end?

It's 8 turns of the lug. I put them on the front only due to wider tires hitting the UCA. I can't tell the fronts are sticking out more than the rear, I think it's because of the shape of the fender.

My girlfriend ran 1/2" spacer on an 05 2500 for a little without problems (her dad had a mechanic put them on without me knowing) Wasnt crazy about it and switched to an 1 3/4" adapter(still not crazy about about, but till new wheels are in the budget).
You wheel isnt going to be hubcentric anymore (unless you find a hubcentric spacer) so there is a chance of vibration in the front (like an unbalanced wheel)
I would check the lugs as often as possible to make sure there staying tight and the threads are getting torn up
