Taking pride in the appearance of your vehicles is important to me but I want it to perform well. My 1500 is totally stock (except for an aftermarket AM/FM/CD player) and I know there are some compromises inherent in any design. So, I'll be looking for some effective modifications to improve performance and fuel efficiency.

Problem is, I have no idea what those are for this truck, which why I joined up in the first place.

I know that better air in/air out improves performance and efficiency so I'm looking into smog legal intake and exhaust options.

Also, I know that the fuel management program is written fairly conservatively, so a programmer is also on my list of research projects.

I tend to remove emblems, molding and stickers on most of my rigs...heck, my 300C SRT8 is practically nekkid! LOL I'll probably strip all the moldings, stickers and emblems off the truck after it warms up a bit.

A nice billet grill, some window tinting and a different set of wheels/tires are in order.

So, I'm on both sides of this performance vs. looks thing.

Good post MADDOG !
I voted looks ... I like also performance of course, but since here we have severe rules and there is a lot of things you CAN'T do to your engine I prefer not to have troubles with cops ...

I voted looks, although performance is important as well. If I didn't like how Blue looked I wouldn't have got her! If she looked like a Gremlin or a Pacer she would still be sitting on my friend's lot!!

True...lots of rulz here too. But those can be accommodated by researching and purchasing effective, legal parts.

Blue, on the other hand, well...I just don't know that much about the Nitro to be of any help, Stacy!

She has a Jet chip, Magnaflow and a K & N CAI, not sure what else I can do to help the performance. Not many performance mods on Nitros, you peeps with the Chargers and 300s, I am envious!! But I am a truck/SUV kinda girl, not sure if I could go back to a car again!

Sounds like you've done some good stuff to the Nitro!

Yes, us LX platform owners have quite a few options, that's for sure. I've managed to mod and tune mine to over 400 RWHP and over 430 lb/ft of torque. And I haven't really touched the engine in a major way.

Camaro's are nice, I suppose... Never owned one...had a Firebird, though. Great car...then wife and kids came along...not very practical for carseat duty...LOL

But here's one of my fave cars that I recently sold:
