Default K&N CAI Issue

Hello. I have a K&N CAI intake. It performs well but is very loud, ear piercing, in the cabin at WOT. Has anyone modified a K&N CAI kit to route the filter lower into the fender below the passenger headlight which would result in less cabin noise?

I know Spectre sells some parts I could probably make it happen but want to see if anyone else has had this problem or worked this solution.

Thanks.

Ted

Getting it closer to the front is a good idea and not just for noise, it also will give it a chance at actually getting cool/cold air vs the hot air in the engine compartment.

Don't take it to low though so that it doesn't get wet.

You could also try building a box to put the filter end in and run a tube toward the front to get that good air.

I think you are on the right track. You may just need another tube elbow, another set of clamps, some rubber couplers and one more straight piece of pipe to get it there. Most of that is available at your local parts store or home center store.

I put the AFE stage 2 on my truck when I first got it. The filter is behind the headlight. I never heard a single noise from it.
I have the Mopar kit now cause I wanted something with an EO number on it. The only noise I ever heard from it was the TB spacer that came with it so I just removed that.
You could always try a different brand of filter on your intake. it could make a difference.
