Wow! What a great thread. Thanks to all who posted great info. I guess at this point I will save my money and keep my oem box with my K&N replacement filter. If someone comes up with a replacement oem TB tube then I would possibly be interested in that or if Volant comes out with the ram air piece for the Gen 4. Thanks again All!

I picked up a new Volant on ebay just yesterday morning for $315
local shops wanted over $600 (in Canada), so I couldn't say no

I really like what my Airaid intake has done for me,
but a 100% sealed box definitely has some appeal.
Volant has also announced an optional Ram Air lower tube to be released November.

That sounds like a winning combo to me.

Did not know about the lower tube coming out soon. Will definitely keep an eye out for that. Thanks for the heads up BRH.

Just another opinion on my part. Beware the bottom feed ram air tube. As long as you don't play off road or in anything that could get into the tube, you're fine. Otherwise, UH OH!!!!!!!!.

Pretty long sticky to read but finally finished all 26 pages. Still up in the air about which CAI to get but leaning towards volant or air-raid at the moment. Didnt see many posts about mpg increase as that is a key factor for me, I dont care the truck gets crap mileage (11-13mpgs city atm) but if im spending some $$ id like an extra 1mpg at least. If I did the volant with a custom ram air (I dont have foglights so I can mount to the passenger hole) and incorporated a superchips gas flashpaq tuner would I get some good results? I also need the tuner for speedo calibration but am wearing about the tranny going out as people complain about with the predator. Just wondering as I am holding off until I can get exactly what I need.

With an intake and tuner you should easily gain 1 mpg, maybe even 2 or so

Figured id let people know they have volant CAI's on ebay for the 3rd gens for about 260$. Im probably just going to go drop in k&n and might be picking up a bully dog locally for a good price. If not that will prob get the volant just to hang onto until next summer.
