I am still reading the posts here so I'm sorry if this has already occurred but can anyone post their dual intake? In the process of doing mine and looking for ideas and reviews, specially those that the piping routes down toward the headlights or all the way to the fogs.

Thanks.

Default Cai

I have a 2009 4.7 personal truck, we also have 2 new hemis for work use.
On my 4.7 after 15000 miles, and a Roll n Lock bed cover, drop in K&N; here is what I got.

I have a light foot 85% of the time, I will use the power when it is needed.

Stock Dodge Air Box, btw it is a CAI by definition.
I got 14 to 16 around town, and under best road conditions, level road, cruise at 62 MPH, no towing and appx 300#s of tools I got 21+

Put in a K&N CAI, no improvement in MPG, a bit better in upshifting, and a lot, lot more cabin noise.
I'd rather listen to the audio system I put in then the noise.

I am back to the stock Dodge box, drop in K&N.

The only other mod I am looking at is a less restrictive exhaust system, without any drone, or noise.

The stock exhaust sounds good enough IMHO, but I believe you can achieve 3 to 5 MPG on highway driving MPGs with a less restrictive exhaust. I base this on my work Ram 2010 5.7 which my mechanic friend built us an exhaust , true dual, Y connector, new cats, 3" pipe, and I believe it has a Magnaflow Muffler. We now can get 23+ on highway under the best conditions as I stated above and it shifts real smooth . We were getting at best 20. It definately tows much better, but the mileage while towing is not near that good, but the shifting is much, much better. Doesn't up and down shift like it did stock while towing.

Any input on this would be welcome as I am an HVAC mechanic and my motorhead skills are limited.

No matter what, I believe that Rams, 4.7 and 5.7 get the best mileage for what the can do in performance as a work or personal vehicle.

Looking forward to seeing it. I was eyeing the Injen as well but got a Volant on craigslist for about a quarter the price of retail so I couldn't pass it up. Still thinking about getting the Injen to see which I like better.
