I normally use 1 can for underhood, 1/2 intake 1/2 crankcase every 4th oil change, and one for the tank every 4th tank. Gets expensive....but hey my oil change runs close to 100 bucks so whats the difference.

So to get it so burn off the smoke like that you put seafoam into the crankcase with the oil? I might try this on my other car.

I pour in a little at a time, then when I get close to half of a can, I smother it to choke and kill the motor. Not saying its right, just what I do...

Yeah thats what your supposed to do. I did mine, none in the crankcase, and had very little smoke. So little the GF was looking out the window on the drivers side (tailpipe is on the pass) and said she didnt see anything. All in all I havent really noticed much, a little better throttle response but thats really it. I thought with 105k miles I would see a bit more action!!

I used the spray cans, sprayed it directly into the TB (gotta keep the RPM's up a little). Once a can and a half was in there, I let the motor sit for two hours to allow the seafoam to penetrate the carbon buildup. Then I ran the snot out of it, the smoke show was on!

Some guys like to use a can of liquid seafoam, using a vacuum line stuck into the can to suck it into the intake with the RPM's up. Either way, the key is to let it set for a while to penetrate before running it hard and impressing your neighbors.

I suppose adding it to the gas tank would let it work slowly as a maintenance thing, but I think that would only be beneficial once the initial cleaning has been done by adding it directly into the intake system. I'd rather use gumout for that, it's a lot cheaper.
