Default Dash light bulb

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram and my owners manual does not have the light bulb replacement No. for the insturment lights . I took the dash apart and pulled out the bulbs they are all twist in bulbs. The bulb and base are all one part they do not come apart . I hate to buy from dealer no telling what it would cost . I have 3 on insturment cluster and 1 on the fan control that are out . Does anybody know the replacement No. and where to buy.

I don't recall ever seeing the bulbs for the cluster available anywhere else. As for the HVAC, I don't think they're replaceable on that year truck. I know for sure that the newer models aren't so you may want to pull the control head and check.

The HVAC bulbs are not really bulbs I believe. They are little LED's wired directly into the circuit board control behind the knob. To replace them I think you have to replace the whole switch.

There's no number on the instrument bulb base?

Yeah, I'm thinking that year uses LED's in the HVAC unit. The last one I priced was aboout $150.

I just bought 11 of the dash bulbs at the dealer last Friday. $1.29 each. I had one out and figured I would replace them all while I had the dash apart.

So is it possible to replace all the instrument lights and get something other then the faded green? All blue would be nice. I don't want any extreme modding just install different bulbs.

i googled wiki answers, only found this

4839738AA that comes straight from dodge mopar parts department at your local dealer. seems they're around 1.08 a piece. my haynes manual says there's 10 in the cluster. hope this helps. and by the way, you have to take apart the whole dash to get to them. its not fun or easy and i havent discovered any other way thus far to get it done.

i did some more checking, if this website comes up, it from diesel truck resource forum, they are also a dodge ram & cummings forum, they posted about dash lights

Figures. Well if it's all the same bulb then that definitely won't change the color. Thanks a ton though. Rep points for that.
