Default HID headlight in 06 ?

hey i am new to the site and i am wonderin if anyone has had problems with aftermarket HID lights messin up the computer in a newer ram. I have a 2006 ram 2500 and already have had the computer turn my low beams off due to the plow lights. will the HID kits affect the computer and turn them off again or what do i have to do to make them work so the computer doesnt get messed up again

I can't say I've heard of HIDs messing up the computer before; maybe you have a bad short somewhere causing this problem. Just to clarify, when you're running your low beams and fog lights together, the low beams turn off?

Also, don't forget to fill out your UserCP so we can have some info about your truck for future reference; and stop by the newbie section to say Hi.

thanks i will have to stop by there but the reason they shut off once is cause i have a plow on the truck and has a diffrent bulb for plow lights and the computer one day shut the low beams off and dodge say it was the plow light sending a diffrent watt code back and it shut them off. i jus dont want to put them in and have it do it again and have to pay to get the headlights turned back on

Ok, I think I see it now. Your plow lights may be causing too much drain on your system so the PCM shuts down the lowbeams in favor of the plow lights. I don't really have any ideas how to get around that, hopefully someone else can chip in here.

Look at 3B specialties website, there are diagrams on wiring HIDs for Rams on there. They are also a supporting vendor here and make some great products. Contact them, they will help ya out
