Hi this might come as a little strange,i have

I wouldn't recommend it because you would lose the backpressure needed to keep them spent gasses moving to the tail end. Do you still have the stock resonator(s)? I hear they are what causes the reduced noise levels inside the cab.

man a 5 inch exhaust would probly destroy your engine, these engines are scavenger type setup,
if ya had a blower on it you can run something like that because air/fuel is forced thru the engine and not so much as pulled by vacuum I think
Id be lookin at things like CH said resonators, something, is a resonator the same thing as a catalytic converter?

Usually the resonator is towards the back and is just used to create more pressure. They are especially useful on the quad cabs where the exhaust system can be quite lengthy. But I read they tend to quiet down the drone inside the cab as well.

I must admit though that the factory Dodge Borla exhaust is something I do not know whether has them or not.

Don't go big on exhaust for your 5.7L HEMI. You'll lose low end torque and your system won't scavenge the exhaust very well.

I'd suggest you go no larger than 2.75 inch and maybe switch your mufflers over to some Flowmaster 44's if you want more sound. Put in a crossover pipe (x-pipe) to equalize the gas pulses in both tubes after the exhaust manifolds but in front of the mufflers. This will help tremendously in exhaust gas scavenging.

Thanks for all your help, yes i still have resonators on,did think about cutting them off.
Yes have butchered borla mufler, is just a tin can now nothing in it.
I have been running a 3" flowmaster that i threw together but could not fit so did this to the borla to refit hoping it would sound the same.
I am thinking of taking the cats out, here in the uk emittions are a big thing but i run LPG, autogas,as our fuel prices are 1.05 per litre, our laws therefore will let me take the cats out.
