Chip LED

The leds that are in my grill are 3 -1 chip in each top light (12 lights) and the bottom 2 are just bulb led. In person the chip ones are way brighter, blinding head on. If I buy some chip leds do they have to be a certain voltage or amps?

Chip LED's are PC board mounted. The Map Light kits I've seen have a bulb 'adapter', if you will, that snaps into the existing fixture with the PC board mounted on top of it. It all fits into the stock fixture (rather tightly in some cases but since LED's run so much cooler than incandescent bulbs it's OK).

Here are a couple of examples on this page:

That now makes sense to me. I didn't know they were actual bulbs. I thought thye were just the chip leds themslelves. Thanks. I love red with my gray and black but it doesn't travel and far as blue/white. I will probably just do white so everything is blue when I reall need to see something, and no I don't want to carry a flashlight just for that.

I went with AAC 3 Chip Blue LED set and love them! I thought being that color, they wouldn't be bright, but I was wrong. Here are some pics. They are not in a Ram, but in my 300, but you get the idea:

I haven't taken any of my interior lights apart in this truck yet so I will eventually take a look and see what bulbs are in there and what i can replace them with unless one of you guys want to through out some numbers. I will most likely get blue so if you have the stock bulb #'s or aftermarkey #'s let me know. If not I will get to it soon.
