Default Torsion Key - Good, Bad, Ugly ???

I'm new to this forum so this may have been covered before. I want to level my '04 RAM 1500 Quad Cab and I've been told the only way to do that is to use a Torsion Key. I need to get 2 " on the front to make the truck level. That's too much for just turning the torsion bars. I have LT305.55R20 Toyo Open Country A/T tires on the truck right now and there is no clearance issues but I was thinking of the next size up when it's time to repalce these. Any feedback on the use of the torsion key? I know the truck has to have a front end alignment after it's done. Is there anything I should worry about? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hello Maddog,
No regrets in using the Torsion Key?

None...put in a modified set and the truck heavy hauled to over 100K miles with no problems.

My Dad's a mechanic, and while i've no personal experience with torsion keys he says he's not partial to them. they add extra stress in there and increase the chances you'll snap something. They do make 2" leveling caps for on top of your struts if i'm not mistaken that keep the stock ride and level the truck out...

I keep finding them for the 94-01 4wd Rams because of the coilover on top of the axle, but only for the 2wd 02-08 Rams so far... I'm still digging though.

How about an '05? I have been looking around to just lift my truck about 2-3 inches and it seems like I got an odd year... no one makes anything other then torsion keys that do 1.5" or a 4-6" lift for about a grand...
