I ran that exact same muffler on my Dakota R/T and loved it. I did a ton of research and bought it because it was the quietest of all the ones tested and made the most power in the midrange and was only 1 or 2 hp shy on the top end from the best on the top. This one made the most power for the longest portion of the powerband, so I went with it. You made a very good choice

I would like to hear it on your Ram too. Please post a vid when you get the opportunity.

Thanks Mike. Yeah I researched a lot too. Hopefully get a vid up in a could days. Do you know how much hp the XS is supposed to provide? The CAI stated 15 hp and 17 ftlb. Just wondering how much more the XS and Y pipe might add.

Ditto on the vid also! Still researching my options but from what sound videos I could find the borla sounds the best so far.

Thumper your probably not going to net very much power from the swap maybe a few horse, and possibly a drop off in low end torque only real gain to be had is sound but I'm okay with that!

Working on a video that will have cold starts stock, with CAI, and CAI with new exhaust. Plan to include drive by and in cab also. Bare with me is coming. ..

I am looking at this borla (suprise suprise, LOL) also.

I don't think with the all the stock sizes you should see any low end torque loss.

just slightly deeper and louder throat sound when your on it.

I have a sport OEM on now and would like just a tad more rumble.

where is the video???

40670 is the 3" in 2.25 dual out.

May consider the Borla also. I was looking ra Corsa's and the dB is around $600 just for muffler.

Hey guys thanks for chiming in. Still working on the video as I can. Had to work 75+ hrs a week for the last 3 weeks, and no end in site right now. So haven't had much time. . .
I have about 500 miles on the Borla now and all I can say is I like it even more now. Overall sound changed slightly for the better, a little more throaty, and just ever so slightly louder. But that may only be noticable to me.
I can say I have not lost any low end torque. Still just as strong as ever. I did see a gain in mid range rpm however. She runs a lot faster (easier) around 50-75 mph. Haven't had a chance to get beyond that yet. ..

Very excited. I ordered the borla 40670 and maggy y pipe. I'm happy with the sport exhaust sound but this set up looks like it will be perfect. Once I get my ride back from the dealer for the 30,000 mile check up it's off to the muffler shop. Thanks for the great write up. Leaving stock intake, but putting in an AFE filter. Maybe I'll see a little performance gain. But mostly it's just for a little more rumble.

I am intrigued. Has anyone found a decent price for the Borla # 40670 in Canada?
