I have just heard back and right now it is still the case that the tuning on the RAM ECU's/PCM's are not compatible at this point due to fuel trims.

Thanks

The only way I could see a SC being REALLY worth while on the pentastar engine is if you are actually able to maintain 23+MPG.

Otherwise you are basically pushing the power of the V6 to the V8 power for x2 the cost.

Where in the RPM band this power will be made I don't know.

But lets not forget the pentastar gets the lower rated 8 speed transmission. The V6 gets the 8H45 and the Hemi gets the 8H70 or something to that effect. Basically the V6 transmission can't handle nearly as much torque. That means if you do a SC upgrade you will almost without a doubt burn out that transmission.
Sorry I cant remember what kit I was looking at but the blower has bypass valve that opens up when not on the throttle maintaining factory mpg specs or so it claims.

For the life of me I dont understand why people keep saying if you want the hemi power buy the hemi. No sh! T. You act like all I have to do is waive my magic wand and poof I now have a hemi. The bottom line is I do not have a hemi and short of buying a new truck (much more then 6 grand) I will not have a hemi. Would it have made better financial sense to buy the hemi for what id like to do. Yes. Im not arguing that. I get it. But I have the 3.6 and I (not you) would like to get some mote power from it. So if your in the camp of captain obvious and think I SHOULD have bought the hemi save your fingers the trouble. I do get it. Jeez

Clearly you need to cool your jets.

I only mentioned I partially agree. I never said oh you should have bought a Hemi.

Rather than run over my one liner you completely look over the relevant information I was trying to pass to you. If you SC that truck you will lose your transmission if you do any hard driving AT ALL.

All I said about the Hemi is that the 8 speed behind it is rated for more. The 8 speed behind the V6 is rated for much less.

I understand you seem to think everyone who has commented on this thread is constantly saying you should have bought a Hemi but if you opened your eyes and lost the temper you would see that is not what I said.

Why don't you take a minute and read the entire post before firing off some back-sass comment thinking I am just another member saying you should have bought a Hemi.

Also the by-pass valve is only there to allow air to escape should you suddenly let off the gas. Nothing stops the constant load of the SC on the power train since it is belt driven.

arth, that was not directed directly at you. Its just a little frustrating that I was just looking for some help finding a supercharger kit for my truck and instead I got a lesson in what truck I should have bought. I didn't mean to offend you.

your concern for blowing the tranny is way off. this transmission is rated at or somewhere around 330 lb feet. if I were to add the sc the tq would be right around max rating not over. plus I doubt if you occasionally touch the 330 mark or even a little higher once and a while doesn't mean you are going to grenade the trany. Ill give you that it would probly shorten the lifespan some though.

and you are also wrong about the bypass valve. what you are referring to is a blow off valve 2 completely different animals. I will look for the kit I'm talking about. It is not the ripp one that Jeremiah provided a link to. It specifically talks about a bypass valve that opens up when your not really getting on it. according to what I read this valve offers no restriction so the truck would operate as if the sc wasn't even there.

I stand corrected.

I would still tread carefully. I don't know what the old 5/6 speed transmissions were rated at with the Hemi(Only thing I have to compare with) but owners that put a supercharger on their trucks usually blew the transmission within 2-8 months.

That being said I don't think anyone has supercharged a vehicle with a 8 speed transmission yet from Chrysler that I know of.

You should of got the Hemi. It will take a long time to save that amount of gas and that is if you can keep your foot under control. The Hemi only gets about 3-5 MPG less than the Pentastar with the 8 speed transmission.

You will also void your engine warranty adding a SC.

I agree with some performance upgrades (I did the catch can Mod) and I can't see any other engine Mods at this time that would be worth upgrading.

If you want noise changing the exhaust and a open CIA, but I don't see any power or MPG gains.

But this is just my opinion and I am keeping my Pentastar engine factory stock or I would of ordered the Hemi to play with.

I'm sorry if I offended or insulted you in some way with my opinion.

You are really having some anger issues with not just me, but other members on this forum.

I won't bother to comment any more, you are 100% right.

Greg, dont bother trying to take the high road here. Not commenting in the first place would have been the correct thing to do because I NEVER asked for yours or anyones opinion. I simply asked if anyone knew of a sc kit for my truck and a couple of you began to tell me how this was a bad idea and you specify told me "you should have bought the hemi" with help like that I am delighted to know you will no longer be posting.

Once again you cant help but open your mouth where you shouldn't claining I have "anger issues" you dony know anything about me other then I drive a ram truck am looking for an sc kit and I live in Wisconsin. If you can determan I have anger issues from that your a better man then me!
