Smile Good chip for 2008 4.7

I will be purchasing my first ever chip for my truck and am wondering which tuner would be the best or has worked well for you? I have a 2008 ram with a 4.7 all I have put on it so far is a CAI and muffler. I would like an increase in mpg and power!
Thanks, Eric

Hi Eric. I have the SuperChips Flashpaq on my 3rd Gen 4.7 and love it. The Flashpaq does not have a lot of customized tuning available through it, but there are a few things you can custom tune. If you're just looking for some canned tunes, like mileage, towing and 91 octane (power) IMHO the SC Flashpaq will give you the best bang for your buck. There are a few of them on sale by other members here on the forum.

Thanks for the info and help. The flashpaq is the one I have been considering for a while, does it have a tune for a performance upgrade without higher octane gas?

No, because for performance you need higher octane fuel. The performance tune in the Flashpaq recommends 91 octane or higher.

That's not true. You have three performance tunes. 87,91,&93 octane. The 87 octane tune gives you an increase of 47 peak hp. 50 hp with 91 and 66hp with 93. Those are peak hp numbers measuring the biggest difference between stock and tuned hp at some point in the power band. I have the dyno sheets from their website if you need them. I use the 87 tune most of the time and it's a noticeable difference.

I've used diablo, superchips, and custom email tune(through diablo) and superchips IMO is by far the best. Most power increase, and you can get transmission tuning for a small fee.
