I know what you're thinking, "it's your alternator you idiot!"
I was driving and my volt gage dropped to zero and my "Check Gages" light came on. Within about 20 minutes, my power windows wouldn't work, lights dimmed out, etc. and then my truck died while I was driving. I bought a new alternator, and charged the battery up all night. The next morning, with a full charge battery, I started up the truck. Within about 15 seconds, the volt gage dropped to zero again and the chack gages light came back on. I thought it was a faulty alternator so I replaced it with ANOTHER new one, but the same thing happened! I read that the voltage regulator is in the PCM, but my mechanic friend said that the PCM rarely fails, and that's always the last resort for them. So does anyone know what else it might be??? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks
