Default Bilstein 5100 ride quality

Searching I am finding a ton of info on everyone's preference for ride hight for the Bilstein 5100's for leveling, slight rake, etc... I have not been able to find much feedback on ride quality versus stock though. I am looking to put the 5100's on all four corners and have the front set on the notch above stock (1.4 or 1.8? still maintaining rake) but it would be nice to get some feedback from members who have these installed. If leveling is not a concern, is it worth it for the ride improvement or is it hardly noticeable?

Thanks!

I had them on the front of my 1500 with a 6" lift and loved how they rode. I would describe it as being slightly stiffer than stock but in a good way if that makes sense. They're much more controlled. Instead of bouncing around a lot they dampen the spring oscillations as they should. I was very happy with them. Can't comment on the rears though as I never used them....

Love how they ride! Almost as smooth as my Acura for bumps. I have mine set at 2.1 with the rear still being factory height and shocks.

I'm in the same boat as the original poster - I think the handling has always been too loose in the front end - again, like too much bouncing around on the front end - almost as if they need to be a little tighter when extending rather than compressing. I have no interest in leveling, but would just like to get a more controlled ride. Interested to hear more feedback. Any other options for beyond the 5100's as well?

I just installed my 5100's this past Saturday morning and couldn't be happier. I was concerned about ride quality and did a lot of research. I got exactly what I wanted. Slightly stiffer ride than OEM but much more control. The front end seems a lot tighter now. As well as a nice level truck. I'll be purchasing a set of replacement Bilstein shocks for the rear as soon as the boss lady will allow it.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Now I just have to pull the trigger buy the shocks from one of our friendly vendors and get mine done. So far I have two install quotes, one for $200 the other $300 (all four shocks).

Night and day in ride quality for me, but my stockers had 60K on them and one was leaking. You will love the ride with all 4 done.

I installed a set on my F350 and the difference was night and day. I'm in the process of getting a set for my Ram 1500 as well.
