Default Outdoorsman SPECIFIC Level

The Outdoorsman model comes ~1" taller ride height stock than other models. I'm wanting to install the Bilstein 5100s. Haven't taken measurements yet, so not sure if I will set at 2.1" or more/less.

Will this effect the height having started already with ~1" difference, or is this going to just add on to what it already has??

May be a stupid question but you never know...

The 1" taller ride height on an Outdoorsman is because of the stock struts. By removing them and installing Bilsteins the same thing that applies to all other trim levels will apply to your truck. So when you take your measurement make sure you add 1" to your current rake as that's what you would have with stock struts.

So with that extra 1" already present... Is that enough to allow a larger size tire to be put on without rubbing?

Yes, slightly larger than stock.

Any insight as to what number that slightly larger would be? What would I be rubbing if I go too big? Fender/wheel well? I mean it looks like I could go 2 inches in diameter bigger before risking hitting the fender.

That's alot of rake lol I measured a 3" difference today, which would be 4" with this info. Even with the maximum 2.8" setting on the Bilsteins I would still have a 1.2" rake. Does that sound right??

Any idea how I could get this a little more leveled?

Just looked at other sites to answer my question along with your answer. I will get ~1.75" lift with it set at 2.8". I've also heard having them set at 2.8 rather than the norm of 2.1, is a little more of a harsh ride...any input?

I put my 5100's on at 2.1 and installed 295/70R18 tires. It still has a little rake, but barely noticeable.

What tires does your truck have on it now? The 265/70/17's?

That is a lot of rake.... With those numbers it doesn't sound like your truck even has the 1" raised ride height. The max rake I've seen on a standard 1500 is 3.25". Most are closer to 2.75" or 3". So based on that and the assumption that your truck doesn't have the raised ride height the Bilsteins will give you 2.8" of lift leaving you with 0.2" of rake.
