Default 2014 Reg Cab 2/4 drop

Hello everyone soon I will be buying a 2014 Reg cab but I only want to purchase this truck is I can do the 2/4 drop and put the 22" SRT-10 wheels because it looks to damn clean. This will be my first time modding any vehicle I have owned. I have done a lot of research and I get very confused because my back ground is so little. My truck will not be pulling and towing anything. It will be my daily driver I just want this truck and that is why I am buying it. But I want it to look like a sports truck. I want to lower it once and do it right the first time. I just want to know the proper way to lower the truck. I do not mind spending a little more if I get it done right. I do not want a crappy ride after the install or the truck looking weird. I am leaning more towards Bell Tech at this point after the research I have done. My goal is to have a nice clean look and the truck drive with no issues at all. Sorry for another 2/4 drop thread but I have read a lot and still unsure. Thank you for your help with this.

Default 2014 Reg Cab 2/4 drop

i just installed the belltech on my crew cab. i was worried the ride would be too stiff but i have to say it is pretty nice. i did the install myself in my garage and it turned out great. the kit comes with shorter end links and panhard relocation bracket. i got it from autoplicity for just around $450. i saw another reg cab locally that had the same kit with the rt wheels and it looked sweet. highly recommend belltech kit.

That is great news. But all the research I am doing in this forum seems like nightmare to lower a truck. I just want to make sure I don't buy a brand new truck and the mess up the ride by lowering it. I like the regular cab but honestly I only want this truck if I can lower it and put 22's and keep the ride nice and smooth. I don't want my truck wiggling and bouncing. I want to be able to go as fast as I want on the expressway.

I would love to hear from other members who have lowered their trucks. My other concern is the truck I am getting is a 2014 I read many threads here and it seems like Bell tech fixed many things in their kits and now it's a real complete lowering kit. Do you think the kits they have now will work fine on the 2014 models?

The worries Im assuming your having are about being too rough of a ride after dropping and being sure your rear end is centered after the drop. The BT kit is known for having a softer spring than most the other manufacturers, wich in the end results in a slightly more comfortable ride. All the BT kits I have looked up including the one we just installed on my friends 2013 include new swaybar endlinks, and a track bar relocation bracket to help center the rear axle. Most of the kits also include Street Performance shocks as well to complete the package. The ride IMO is excellent! Im personally looking forward to this very same kit on mine in the near future.

Hey 1500 - it's great to do research- You'll be happy you did-- but it can cause anxiety when you read contradictory reviews. Belltech, Groundforce, McNaughty's are all solid packages that will work on your ride.
A 2/3 or 2/4 drop is pretty standard stuff that might need a pan hard bar adjustment but nothing to stress.
The people that suffer crappy rides or real stiff handling are dropping 4/6 or more and that introduces a whole new set of variables that the average "joe" does not want to deal with.
I have a GF 2/3 and I'll say with out doubt that the ride is sweet and comfortable and I have no regrets at all. Never bottomed out or rubbed or any of the things I was sort of worried about in the research stages of my hunt.
Good Luck!

mygt8q and spoiler I really appreciate your feed back. You made me more confident to buy one of these kits. I am hoping to get my truck soon and lower it and I hope to enjoy it. Thanks

I have the Belltech 2/4 kit installed with the SRT10 22's. The ride is stiffer than stock but its not bad. Rides more like a car. I have no wobble or vibrations. I have no regrets about installing it.

Mr. Smith I love your ride. It was your truck that made me want to do this type of set up. Do you mind giving me the part number of the Belltech kit your purchased and where you bought it and as far as your wheels do you mind telling me what company you used to purchase them? When you purchased your wheels did you have to order it with a special offset because they look like they fit perfect? or is it one size fits all type of deal? Mr. Smith I appreciate you replying to my thread. Your truck is so nicely done. Totally my style just a nice and very clean set up. Thank you.
