Default Rear block U-bolts

Hey, I’m pretty new to the forum. I’ve read through quite a bit but haven’t posted much. I have a couple of quick questions pertaining to rear leaf spring blocks. I see some kits that are from $150-200 that come with the blocks and U-bolts. Then I see the Top Gun Customz blocks that seem to be recommended here quite a bit for $75. It looks like those do not include U-bolts. If I’m only looking a 1” block for the rear, do I need new U-bolts or will the factory ones suffice? I’m looking at leveling the front with the Bilsteins 5100 shocks.
Perhaps it’s not important because I see folks talking about the block making a bunch of noise. Is this a universal problem or one that just pops up every now and then? Is there a way to prevent it? If it’s going to cause issues I’d rather just leave it and not lift the front the full 2.8”.

Any help is appreciated…thanks.

The set up you are talking about I have. I have my bilistines set at 2.8. nose higher than the rear by a little bit. If I get my 35's then it wouldn't be as noticeable I want to put a 1/2" -1" block on the rear so that she sits just right.

Just look at your threads on the stock U bolt and measure, if you can get away with the added size block with having stock bolts then you wouldn't need a new Ubolt.

First off.... you're confusing 3rd gen stuff and 4th gen stuff. The rear lift option that people are talking about for 4th gens that make noise are rear coil spacers, not blocks since the 4th gens have rear coils rather than leaf springs. Blocks shouldn't make any noise at all if installed correctly.

I would recommend getting new U-bolts. Your's are probably a little warn out anyway and they definitely aren't something you want failing on you. For how cheap they are just swap them out. Now that being said... U-bolts aren't worth $75... they're worth about $10. I would buy the blocks (and make sure you're looking at blocks not coil spacers) from Top Gun Customz and then buy U-bolts at your local auto shop or dealer. They should be pretty cheap.

Also the max setting for Bilsteins on a 3rd gen is 2.1", not 2.8" just to let you know...

Great...thanks! That's what I was looking for. I didn't know the Gen 3s could only go to 2.1". So maybe I won't need the blocks in the rear anyway...I guess I'll have to measure and see where I am. Thanks again.
