Default KilrRam's Killer Ram

Hey Everyone!
I picked up my 2013 Ram 1500 Laramie Crew Cab, 6’4” bed, in Flame Red monotone paint on January 15, 2014. Built in June 2013, it’s got the 5.7 Hemi, 6-speed trans, 4x4, 3.55 LSD, and the 8.4an stereo with Alpine speakers. I knew shopping for a 2013 truck in January of 2014 and finding the options I wanted was going to be difficult. My wish list was simple though: Ram 1500, 5.7 Hemi, Crew Cab, 6’ bed, Laramie trim, black interior, in one of the 5 or 6 monotone colors I liked. Come to find out, there was only 2 new trucks that fit my wishlist (one was actually in two-tone paint) within a 500 mile radius. Luckily, the monotone colored on was in a color I was looking for! Used the USAA Car Buyers Program to get a few rebates, bought the extended mechanical warranty and ended up with an out-the-door price of just over $41,600.

Since I brought her home about a week and a half ago, I’ve done a few small mods…

Living in IL, I knew some better floor mats were going to be in order. So I get a set of Husky X-act Contour floor mats for the front & rear.

Next was a spray-in bed liner. That was knocked out yesterday by the Line-X dealer in Belleville, IL.

My favorite band is Iron Maiden. So I had to throw a shout out to them on the driver’s side rear window. Coincidentally, the first song that came on while I was driving the truck home was Wasted Years by Iron Maiden!!! Rock on!! \m/

I’m not a big fan of chrome. I like the quantity of chrome (hardly any) on the Sport models but was after the Laramie accouterments. I love the look of the front end/grille, but all that chrome reminded me of a mouth full of shiny braces. So I pulled the grille inserts out, plasti dipped (aerosol spray) them and put them back in. Much better in my opinion!!!

After:

I have a few more mods I’d like to do so stay tuned!!!

Thanks fastNugly!!!

Did a little more modding, blacked out the fender flares on her. Again used Plasti Dip as I did on the grille. Took them off the truck to do it. The hardest and most time consuming part of doing this is cleaning the double sided tape off the flares and the body. All told, probably spent about 4-5 hours just getting the residual tape and glue off. But it was well worth the time! That's a lot of red on the truck. Blacking out the flares really breaks it up and I love the look!!!

Here's a before shot:

And after shot:
