Default LED bed lights

Got a great Xmas from my brother LED bed lights. I want to wire them into the same circuit that with the stock cargo light so they LEDs come on when I switch on the cargo light. I figured Id tap into the power where the cargo light wire originates. For the life of me I cant trace the wires from the roof to where ever power originates. Any idea where this is. I can't find a wire diagram worth anything!
Would it be OK to run the LED wires up the B pillar and attach at the cargo lights. The wires connecting to the bulb look pretty small and I don't want to overload them ( I know the LED don't draw much).
Has anyone tried this. Thanks for the help!

I guess that's the route I'm going. I'll just tap into the trailer power. reason for wanting to connect to cargo was to prevent someone (wife) leaving them on.

In another thread, the guy mentioned that it was under the door sill on the drivers side rear door. He even posted a pic or three of it.

I have installed my LED bed lighting strips just as you are describing. Come on when I unlock the truck and then fade out with the cargo light after about 1 minute. If I still want/need them after that timer turns them off, they come back on when I hit unlock again. They also illuminate with the cargo light when I push the cargo light button near the headlight controls.

To acheive this:

Install your strips in the bed and run your wires though the driver side stake post hole, under the cab and up through the floor under the rear passenger driver side seat (flip up your driver side rear passenger seat and then open the storage compartment to see the access point (it is under the carpet) - you can also see the access point by looking under the truck). Drill a small hole the size of your wires, pass them through (add a dab of RTV silicone to your drilled hole after your draw your wires through), run the wires under the rear seat frame and to the driver side rear passenger door sill. Pop the door sill cover off to find the factory wiring harness and locate the cargo light wire (white w/tan stripe). Tap your positive (+) bed lighting wire to the cargo wire and you are done. The negative (-) wire can be grounded anywhere, but to keep my install clean, I kept the positive (+) and negative (-) wires together into the cab and grounded my negative (-) wire to a screw in the rear seat frame.

And some pics of the finished product:

Yes you can definitely put too much on that circuit, this is why I wired mine up via a relay. That circuit drives the coil and I used a fused +ve feed through the contacts to the bed lighting.

ok i went out and check and left the cargo light button on while i switched it back and forth from acc to run and the lights would flash on for a second, do you think if i swap out the regular bulbs on the cab to leds that that may lower the load on it??

Im getting to install mine on a reed switch at the tailgate. That way theyll only come on when the gate is opened and will shut off when the tailgate closes
