Default Thinking about 35's

I recently found a deal on a good set of 35" tires and I was thinking about getting them for my 02 slt 4x4. All I've got done for lifting/leveling is cranked t-bars. Will 35/12.50 fit? And also I know a lot of people change gears for that size tire, what ratio should I run?

for 35" tires you need to run at least 4:10's. for the lift part, you would proabably want at least a level lift and some wheel spacers

I am running 35/12.50 toyo M/t's with 3.55 gears and a leveling kit without an issue. My bud has 35/12.50 mickey thompsons on his 03 or 04 ram with just torsion bars cranked. It comes down to the rims or wheel spacers. Are you looking at wheel spacers or different rims?.. Also how much did the torsion bars cranked lift the front?

Hm, you might want to figure that out, as it plays a large role. Do your current tires stick out at all past the body?

They do but very little. They've got 275/70 on an 18x10 wheels whereas the stock polished 20 is 9" wide I believe

what are you getting for MPG, and how is your acceleration and towing? I am running 35 12.50's on mine, but had to swap the diffs, because I couldn't get out of my own way, and couldn't even get out of the drive way pulling my camp trailer and my bed loaded down with my ATVs. I ended up swapping in 4.56 gears and am now getting 18 mpgs and have enough power to pull a 30% grade at 55 mph with a full load.

You have to remember that we are both running different engines. I also have a diablosport Trinity tuner and MDS. I can still light the tires up from the start and only time my acceleration really stinks is when I am in miliage booster tune for the winter. 4.56 gears would be awesome, but I do a lot of hwy driving.
So just did the math, and based off the summer avg as in the winter I auto start and idle a lot to warm up. Getting about 16-17 MPG. I have only towed a few times since I got the tires in August with 26foot tow behind. It was noticable, but my truck pulled it. If towing often, the upgraded gears would be needed. We have an F350 and 2 dodge 2500 (98Cummins, 03/04Hemi) that I use instead of my personal truck though (Dad controls an RV dealership that I work for).

Ok after reading Brandon post explaining the wheel off set-i'm confused-do u guys runn a negative offset so the 12.5 wide tires dont stick out too far?

Because some said w/o off set u have rubbing and u might have to pull inner wheel well in-correct me if im wrong but a negative offset brings the wheel in towards the wheel well doesnt it?

Opposite to that. I run a -12 Offset that pushes the tire out. A great thread to read is right here. Post #2 should be of use to explain it to you. The greater the negative offset.. the farther the tire will stick out.
