Default 2011 Ram Trade In Values

Has anybody out there traded in their Ram? I'm curious on what the dealerships are giving for trades (in general). If you have traded it in, did you have an SLT, Bighorn, Laramie, Sport, or Longhorn? Thanks!

So, here is how my morning went down. I took my Laramie over to the dealership for an oil change. While I was waiting, I went looking around at the 2014's on the lot. I have been debating for a while whether I wanted to upgrade, so I have been researching these trucks as well as what mine is worth for quite some time.

A salesman came out to great me, and I explained I may be interested in a 2014. I also get the preferred pricing plan through my work which he didn't seem to thrilled with. I asked him if we could take a look at the pricing for the Laramie, Sport, and Big Horns. There is no haggling with the price they give you (supposedly). It is very cut and dry typically, so I just wanted to see what kind of pricing I could get. He says, "I'm here to sell cars and not waste my time." I couldn't believe what I heard!! I have never ever been told that by a salesman. Plus, I was the only customer that was there. Anyway, he looks at the prices and comes back to me. First, I can't believe how much more expensive these trucks are compared to the Laramie's of 2011!!! That kind of turned me away, but if they could give me a good deal on the trade, I figured it could still work out.

I have researched my truck extensively to see what kind of price I should be able to get. The absolute lowest price I saw for a trade in that is in the condition of my truck is $25k. They offered $22k for mine. That seemed like a slap in the face. They then tried to get me to fill out the credit check, and I politely left. I don't know if that is reasonable or not, and frankly, if it is, I will gladly keep my truck for another 5 years. Also, I will probably never buy a truck from them...(bad vibes)

I traded in my 2011 Ram 1500 Sport Quad Cab in August 2013 the truck was loaded with everything except sunroof, I had around 79000 kilometers on it and the dealer gave me $ 28,000 for my truck and sold it within 2 days for $ 29,900.00

I went to 2 different websites to get a minimum offer for my 2005 Ram with 158,000 miles back in April. The truck had some wear and was in average condition at best. I got an offer for 6,500 and 7,200. When I went to buy my new 2013 they gave me 7,500 which I thought was more then it was worth since it had a little rust and wear plus the higher mileage.

If I was you that's what I would do, get a few offers and make them beat it. Also its best to negotiate the deal first before negotiating the trade in. I've seen many times where guys get a great deal but get screwed on the trade in or the financing.

Luckily, there really isn't much in the way of negotiating the price of the new truck, so the only negotiations I do is for the trade. I just don't see how you can get them to go up $4 or $5 grand on their initial offer. Do you just keep working at them, or do you leave? Honestly, they went up to $23k, but they said they couldn't go any higher. They would not even budge. I ended up leaving, and THEY NEVER CALLED ME BACK!!

I paid $32k for my 2011 last weekend. It's a Laramie, pretty much loaded, only 13k miles, 1 owner. They were initially asking $35k before negotiation.

That, sir, is why I refused their offer. They could have made a lot of money off of it if I let them have it.
