I read through the thread and don't think I saw it anywhere. I would use as little electrical tape as possible and use heat shrink tubing instead. Electrical tape is great but when it gets old it starts to unravel. Plus heat shrink is more water tight if it's done properly. Lots of different views on it though. JMO

Yes I agree Red, the only time to use tape in my opinion is to help prevent chafing in areas where the wires might rub (even if the wires are running through corrugated loom). also I perfer to solder as much of my connections as I possibly can. I don't trust crimp connectors, I have seen too many to fail, and cause problems that are hard to find later on down the road, especially when using heat shrink over the top of them.
