Default New Air Raid CAI WOW!

Gotta say so far the CAI has made a huge improvement in power and sounds great! Can't wait to install the new Magnaflow 14" and y pipe. Hurry up Amazon!

I wonder if the new muffler and y pipe will help power and make it sound even more aggressive?

Is CAI better than replacing your OE filter with a KandN filter? I ask because im wondering how much engine heat the OE setup blockes compared to an aftermarket CAI?

The honest answer is they are not much better. On a dyno they may show some slight gains, but almost never enough to actually be felt by you. Most of the time they are louder and you get a placebo affect cause it sounds "meaner". As for fuel, if you pick up an honest .5-1mpg I would be impressed and happy.

Now, that said, there are some creative designs out there that might be breaking that mold these days. To truly take advantage of that though you will also need a tuner of some sort.

I sealed my Intake off from the engine compartment, and then put some foam on top of the box so when the hood comes down it seals it

nice power. That's the key I believe. Having an aftermarket CAI without much or without a fully enclosed heat shield defeats the purpose. I threw in a KandN in the factory box for now. Ill look at some other options down the road if a really nice CAI draws my attention.

it might be a tab bit louder. I cut off all the sound baffle crap and stock muffler and threw a flowmaster 40 series in. So for me I like the sound and personnely would not want it any louder.
