The rated tow capacity varies depending on model and options. A Diesel Std Cab - 8' Box 4x2 - SLT with 3.92 axle ratio is 9200 lbs, or 8200 lbs with the 3.55. It goes down from there. For example, a Diesel Crew Cab - 5'7" Box 4x4 - SLT with 3.92 axle ratio is 8650 lbs, or 7650 lbs with the 3.55. The 3.92 will certainly have some effect on performance (better) and fuel economy (worse) but I can't say how much. I guess March before these start appearing on dealer lots.
