Default My Blue Streak Outdoorsman

My first Ram! It's a 1500 Outdoorsman 4x2 v6 Pentastar with 3.55 and ant-slip. It's my daily driver so I was most interested in maximizing fuel while being a good truck for pulling a small trailer several weeks a year and occasional weekend outings.

I normally buy everything in red and black when I have the option. They've been my favorite colors forever, but when I saw a Charger in blue streak, I just had a feeling that the two tone outdoorsman would make a great combo. I struggled with it for a week before placing the order but now having had it for a week I'm extremely happy with it.

Mods done:
* Pillar blackout tape removed
* Debadged
* TruckGearDirect running boards added
* BakFlip Tonneau Cover
* Shorter antenna

Mods to be done:
* Plastidip the wheels black
* Custom install cell phone cradle
* Install mounts for ladder/wood rack

Here's the truck sitting on the dealer lot the night before we picked it up.

Today after debadging with the sun on it. (Still pretty dirty, but it's below freezing out so a full cleaning wasn't going to happen.)

I'll add more photos when I can get it clean on a day that is clear out.

I did an internal mod today installing a phone dock with a fixed mount and hidden cable.

Here's a post with a detailed description and step by step photos.

I like that blue. The pearl looks awesome. Hell of a job you did with the phone holder too. Nice and clean.

Default Nice choice

I get mine on the 31st. ordered it loaded with everything, incl. air and heated seats and Ramboxes UConnect 8.1, the big subwoofer stereo, Air suspension, rear camera, and rear defrost and the heated mirrors to go with it. It took 7 weeks longer than promised, but worth the wait. Nice to finally see pix of what it will look like. The Blue Streak paintjob seems to be rare in the lots, and I wanted something not the same as all the stock stuff. I also opted for the Canyon Brown interior to brighten things up a bit.
Like you, I think the silver wheels look wrong on a truck otherwise with black trim. I think the badges need blacking out too to complete the look. I like how you removed the badges. Was removal of the matt black on the pillars hard to do? Any tips on the removal of these?

How are the offroad tires on snow, and are they quiet?

Cheers, Oly

I'm still real happy with the color, but I'm realizing that I'll probably need to wash it frequently if I want it to really look its best.

The pillar tape was super easy to remove. There's one trim screw on each to remove then grab a corner and peel away. It was fast and came off clean. There's a post on the forum that shows step by step photos, but you honestly don't need it.

I'm happy with the tires so far, but didn't really get an opportunity to drive in snow. Hopefully I won't have to do that until next winter now.

Got the BedRug in and the Bakflip VP on today.

Bak had sent me a fibermax by mistake but they were really great about fixing the problem and swapping tops. Having had a chance to see both in person, I'm really glad I went ahead and switched to the VP as I had ordered. Based on looks I like the VP quite a bit more than the Fibermax. How well the VP holds up over time we'll have to wait and see.
