Well after running an HID kid in the stock projectors it was OK but it was not the light output that I was looking for. I have a friend who is by far the best in modifying headlights. And after speaking with him the FXR was the way to go.
To start with. Its a fairly easy process......after you bake your headlights open.
Dodge like many new car makers uses perm seal. Its Basically meant to be sealed forever. The risk is baking them so hot that well you damage your lights and then its a costly dealer mistake. I managed to get them of. I found 255F for 20min works great. Once you do that you have to carefully pry it open not damaging the lens.
After you do that its pretty straight forward. Reflector comes out with the lens. I painted mine black as the Laramie was silver and I wanted the black.
The Projector install is straight forward 4 screws hold your old one and 2 for the new one. Simple plug and play. Now the FXR projector also is 2.5" and runs a ds2 bulb you will have to modify to obviously fit it correctly.
Another note. For those wishing just to run HID in their ram. Don't be fooled by those stupid 250.00 kits. I bought one of here that was recommended with the wiring harness etc.....Its the biggest waste of money. Get a cheaper kit for 70.00 and buy 10.00 ebay cancellers.
No moe flickering no more messaging. Trust me. I been in the HID business long enough to tell you that 250 bucks a kit is a rip off.
Back to topic. I am running BMW d2s bulbs (Phillips ) and Morimoto D2s balasts with cancelers. The difference is amazing. I will post pics tomorrow of the output as i still have to align the beam a bit. But for now here are the headlights
