Default NEW Scratch built and designed exhaust system in the works...!!

I've designed and sourced all the parts need for my new exhaust system I'm building.. All stainless, all mandrel bends, etc etc All I can say right now is its going to be a BIG single system and uniquely loud but not obnoxious loud... It's an outside the box system that will be a first on a truck like this...

Updates will follow once it's in...

I'm curious what you've come up with. Complete from the heads back or are you picking up headers and going from those? I wouldn't expect a guy like you to keep the stock log header but I'm curious to know.

For now it will be cat back... Plans are for an LT ARH catless setup in the future along with a Trinity and custom tune. My one gripe right now is that I can count to 10 between shifts... Soooo painfully slow..!!

I've got my y pipe, reducer (reversed to go bigger , bends and muffler. Just need clamps, extra tubing and a tip. It will be a single setup. But short and big..! People are sadly mistaken about larger pipes and velocity. If done right it sounds so much better and flows extremely well. All the bunk about 2.5" duals being the maximum is a falsity. But debating exhaust sizes is like debating religion. It goes nowhere fast. So I'll leave it at that...

Parts are in... Y pipe, adapter, tubing, bends, muffler and tip. It's a Magnaflow #14153 muffler. I'll let you guys look that one up... Not all that impressed with the Maggie Y pipe. The outlet side has a rather larger lip on the inside that will cause a reversion issue. Makes me wonder if that's why people claim their truck is quieter after the Y pipe swap.....

Here's a couple pics of the parts so far. I'm liking the Flowmaster Y pipe better over the Maggie due to much better inside finish. It has very smooth transitions and edges over the Magnaflow which is full of sharp edges and poor transitions. But I'll see which one fits better when it comes time to install. Also the long pipe will be cut down a lot. I just got 4ft because it was cheap. Say what you will about the sizing. I'm showing what I'm building here. SO NOT looking for lessons on exhaust sizing..!!

What you're seeing is:
-2.5" Dual in/3" out
-3" - 4" transition
-4" tubing
-4" Magnaflow Race Muffler #14153
-4" MBRP turndown

Hot damn man, that looks like a beast!!! You should absolutely post a sound clip of that. I can only imagine how deep and low that is gunna sound

When I first saw the pics I was wondering if you'd lost your marbles with an expansion to such a long tube, but when you're saying it's gonna be cut down a lot I was feeling better. I like how smooth that transition is. This is popping out right behind the cab, correct?

Yep. Dump somewhere just past the cab underneath. The truck is too low to do any logical side exhaust system. The 4" straight length will be maybe 18". I plan on starting on this Friday night.
