Default 2011 Brake controller install

I'm currently using a aftermarket brake controller and plan to install a factory controller in the near future. Since the truck didn't come with it will it recognize the install.

You will need to get the option added to the build sheet for it to show in the EVIC. My truck didn't come with the factory controller. I had the dealer install when new and flash the computer. The controller failed and I installed an aftermarket one since the factory controller isn't that great. Now I cant get the code removed from the build sheet so I get an error message every time I start the truck. So consider your options before you regret it. The only nice thing about the factory controller was the fit and finish.

I have a new RAM 1500.
I am planning on installing a Tekonsha Brake Controller and a wiring harness adapter.
The Tekonsha wiring harness application guide calls for P/N 3021-P.
What brand after-market controller did you purchase?
Did you use a "Plug & Play" type (2 connecters) of adapter to connect from controller to truck?

I have a Tekonsha P3. I installed it with the tekonsha adapter. It only uses one of the factory plugs. Works great.

Tekonsha make great bc's. You shouldn't feel inadequate over the factory controller.
