Default 2014 Side View Mirror

Hey guys! Just brought home my 2014 Black Express 4x4 last week. Absolutely love this truck! The Beast fit into my one car garage no problem, but didn't back out quite as easily... Yes, I am man enough to admit that I was too busy watching my table saw on the left and not didn't pay enough attention to the right side. I barely (and by barely I mean 1/4") caught the garage door trim, but it was enough to bend the mirror back and pop the cover off. I got the cover back on, but apparently damaged the motor, I am thinking a wire came loose, I just need to take it apart and check. Is there an easy way to pull the glass out and check behind the mirror without popping the cover back off? There is absolutely no damage, other than the power no longer working.

Worst case, does anyone know of a good place to order a replacement unit? No one seems to have a 2014 in stock yet. Running into the same issue finding a Class IV or 2" Class V hitch. Will 2013 parts work, were there changes to the mirrors or rear frame?

Thanks!

Mike

Damn! I bet you felt sick when you did that. Especially to the awesome looking beat. I know I did the first time I did it to mine. That's right, I said it... the first time, not the only time. I've had to replace my right side mirror too.
Don't know if there's an "easy" way to pull the glass out. I'm thinking it's just held in with tabs that go in to the motor assembly, so you have to apply enough pressure to get it to release. Good luck! Watch out for them garage doors.

I am looking for replacement side view mirrors. I came across a number of sites that sell just the mirror. Do a search and you will find them. The entire side view mirror assembly is ridiculously expensive. Also, keep an eye out on Ebay. Many trucks slammed by R.R. locomotives and fuel tank trucks usually have an undamaged side view mirror hanging on the smashed door. Online auto wrecking yards are a good source as well.

Thanks for the tips! The problem is no one seems to know anything on the 2014 models yet. Heck, I can't even find a hitch because no one can confirm if it'll fit the '14s.

For the record, my wife's 4Runner fits much better in the one car side, and the Ram now has the two car side. It fits much better now!

I'm sure someone has wrecked one by now. Shouldn't be too hard to find one.
