Default Blacking out quad headlamps?

I'm thinking about buying another set of quad headlamps to "black out"

I got the impression somewhere they could be dismantled and the silver areas painted black to darken the overall look--is this accurate?

I couldn't find a thread specifying the steps or how to but wanted to be sure before I buy a set!

Thanks!

This is a thread I had for the lights I built, I blacked out mine and there are some pictures, once you get your lights you put them in the oven at 260-280 for 8-10 minutes or until they get warm enough to pull them apart then you will just nees to take apart tape and paint anything you want black buy some butyl sealant and reverse the baking process

It's correct^. I also bought an extra set of quads and baked them apart, painted and reassembled without a hint of moisture inside so far.
They were BRUTALLY hard to get apart while being careful not to wreck anything, but worth it for the more aggressive look.

Nice! Well that's what I'm thinkin, so you were able to black out everything aside from the back of the lights and not impact their brightness?

Might have to move forward with this....

Tough to say. I upgraded al my bulbs to PIAAs at the same time. I did wonder if I lost <5% due to the black housing, but if I did it was not measurable, and TOTALLY worth it.
*If you want brighter fogs, put in 9005s. They have the same base as the stockers but are MEASURABLY brighter. No question. I never use my highbeams anymore.
