I know it's kind of cheezy, but it worked well for me and continues to work well for me. I just put all the extra wiring and ballasts in the cubby of the bumper. It was way easier than trying to mount it to the frame. I haven't had any issues from doing it that way. Maybe one day I'll get some motivation to do it, but then again, one day I'll hit the lottery, too.

I don't know if this helps as I have a 4th. gen. truck. I used 3M double sided tape and tie wrap to hold the ballast to the frame rail. So far nothing has moved.

Just got off work here is how i set mine just just really for convenience and easy access

This is the drivers side, the top relay is not part of the HID kit it is for my led rings behind my projector housings. the ballast is the one on the inside and the relay is on the outermost side, i used some self tapping screws and in turn just used that as my ground point as well.

Passenger side

Yes sir I did 1/4 inch I believe I did go ahead and drill a pilot hole first just to make the self tapper go in easier im really happy so far. I had a ballast go out on me and retro solutions had me test all my grounds to make sure it wasnt operator error and they said my resistance readings through my grounds were some of the best they had seen so it seems to be working really well

Well I don't have caps.. Just the HID setup with a relay harness.. Can honestly say that it is a extremely ghetto set up.. I think my driver side balast is hanging off my aftermarket alarm horn with zip ties... I used a lot of zip ties for my kit.. Way to many.. And electrical tape.

You can never have or use too many zip ties.
