Default exhaust swap

Hi!

i am the proud owner of a 2011 1500 dodge ram hemi sport.
there's probably been a few threads about swapping the stock exhaust for a, well, louder one, but i'm wondering if anyone has had any bad experiences with that, in therms of loss of performace, engine damage or wear...
i live in Belgium (that's in Europe) so it's not easy getting some of those systems out here... i can get my hands on a flowmaster setup for around 500$ but i'm not sure that's the best choice... i've been leaning towards that SS bolt-on magnaflow mufflex 14" setup, and looking into getting one shipped over here, or finding a dealer close by.
good choice? who's had one of those, and for how long? no problems? (except complaints from the neighbours perhaps...)

thx!

Are you looking for more performance or just sound? If you just want to be loud then the Flowmaster will be louder than the Magnaflow. On the other hand the Flowmaster is a chambered design where as the Magnaflow is a straight through design. This means for better performance you'll want the Magnaflow.

hm, basically just sound but if i can get a bit more growl out of it + better performance i might be tempted to go for the Magnaflow... i think i'll just check out some video's on youtube and make my choice... depends ofcourse what i can get here in belgium...
thx!

Once you find a setup you like you could have someone in the states ship it to you. I know a bit risky but if you find someone trustworthy it'll work out. I've shipped buell parts to a guy in australia for him to help him out before.

If you just want loud, flowmaster isn't a bad choice. I just personally don't like the chambered sound, I find it slightly annoying. Straight throughs still usually have drone though. So it's tough to make the call. Even a chambered(flowmaster) will perform a little better than stock. And with any muffler swap you probably can't notice a performance change anyway.

If ECU is stock you honestly won't get any better performance. It'll just sound that way. The RAM Hemi's stop accelerating at +/- 106 MPH anyway in stock tune. Exhaust manifolds and the factory y-pipe are the biggest restriction.

I agree with this.

Exhaust sound is very subjective so it's really a matter of personal taste.

I too am not a fan of the Flowmaster's design and sound [tone] but I will add this: many people who's opinions/views I respect run nothing but Flowmaster.

Good luck.
