Default New Ram 3500 with 5th Wheel Prep Package

Picked up a 2013 Ram 3500 Laramie Longhorn dually with the gooseneck/5th wheel prep package last week. The GM of the sales department told me that the hitch would be available in 2-4 weeks and that it was available for order on their Mopar Estore. Earlier this week, I ordered the 5th wheel hitch part #82213821 for their Estore. Two days later, I received an email that the hitch was on an indefinite backorder. I called them today and they stated that it would be a 3-6 month wait. I call Ram Customer service and Mopar and could not get a definitive answer related to the availability or ETA of that hitch. Can anyone shed some info as to this hitch? Has it been produced? If so, has any been shipped? Thanks for any input.

I'd tell em to take a hike. Reese makes one for 30,000 lbs. Should be more than enough. Mopar buys it from somebody else anyway. Get some blue Mopar stickers and put on it. hehe.

I agree with hydrex. Reese is the best and readily available anywhere.

Default Still no word on Mopar 5th Wheel Hitch

My dealer has taken my order for the Mopar 5th wheel hitch that will install onto the 5th wheel factory prep setup without the adapter. At least that is what he is telling me. The only problem is that it is on indefinite backorder. I am told anywhere from 3-6 months. The adapter that is required in order to install a Reese or Curt 5th wheel hitch cost approx $500.00. I will not need to use the hitch until early next year, so I am willing to wait and see if Mopar comes out with the hitch, as advertised. If anyone has any reliable information on this, please share.
Thanks.

Default Mopar 25K Hitch! Finally

I finally located a dealer (220 miles away) that has both the 25K Mopar hitch and Adapter that is required to install the hitch. I just got home and will be installing it tomorrow. Looks like the Curt Hitch except with Mopar stickers. I was told that it was 1 of 3 that were available according to the dealers system.
