Default Buying/Installing 4.10 Gears

Interested in looking at upgrading from 3.55 on my 2011 1500 crew. Was wondering what the best option would be to do this. Would it be finding used at junkyard and if so what years could I find that will be a compatible swap. Or can I buy new from somewhere. Not sure what is the best route to take. Planning on larger tires down the road and possibly a lift. Like the idea of the 4.56 but do go on a few long trips a year, ~800 miles one way, and think the 4.56 might kill me too much on the highway. Thanks in advanced for the help.

Get ahold of Moe's performance. I got my gears from them. I went from 3.55 to 4.56. I am running 35s . I received good advice from Moe's and a quick order time.

Thanks for the info. Anyone else have any thoughts or recomendations on the used swap out from another model?

4.10 or 4.56? Ive only got a 4.7 with 35's , do i really need 4.56? will it really make a difference compared to 4.10? there should be a thread dedicated to this, alot of people seem to ask about it.

First question would be....what lift and tires will you want to run?
I've tried and tested most variations and can give you a pretty accurate opinion and feedback.
I have 4.56 on mine, but have 37's

Fun to drive, but I have a buddy with 4.10s and 37's and he gets slightly better MPGs on the freeway over me, but lacks a bit of grunt that I have in the city.

So its all dependent on tire size you want to run

As for swap....front gears are swappable with no issue. Your rear will either need machining or you'll need a rear end from an 09-10

By the way, we carry gears too

Let me know

Hijacking this thread!
FastNugly, what would you recommend for 35's on a 5.7? 4.10s or 4.56?

If you care for MPGs on the freeway, do not go with 4.56
I ran 35's through winter and again, I have 4.56 and my MPGs were not the greatest.
Mind you...I had a ton of fun in the city

But I did switch back to 37's and my MPGs are where I want them to be

Extreme fun = 4.56
Best all around = 4.10
This is with 35's

What gears do you have now?
3.55 or 3.92?

If 3.92, you will still be ok with power, MPG will go down a bit in the city, but again, power is still there. Of course not like with stock, but 3.92s do fairly well

I've got 3.55s, bah!
I'll probably eventually go with 4.10s so I can still get away with some real winter tires..

If you got 3.55 and will only run max 35's, then yes 4.10 is what I would recommend
Again, based on the explanation above

Given you have a 2010, its easier for the swap too unlike 2011 and especially us 2012 guys

I too had 3.55 when I initially lifted and ran 37 MTs and my truck was an absolute DOG!

Let me know

6" BDS with Fuel Nutz and 35" Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ. Probably will never go any larger than 35's if I were to guess. So with my 11 I cant just buy oem 4.10 front and rear gears and have them just put in? I thought this would be possible since the 11's had an option for 4.10's I thought? I thought I only need machining on the rear if I wanted to go with the Yukon 4.56?

BTW Andrew, once you are able to find me D251 20x10 Fuel Nutz -black milled -19 offset i'm ready to buy!
