Default Shocks for CST Lift

Hi guys, I was wondering if any of you have the CST 4 inch lift on a 2WD 1500 and if so, did you have to purchase their shocks or are you using the stock shocks? I ask bc i called the install shop to get a price on install and the guy told me he would recommend getting the shocks due to the stock shocks being maxxed out...any info on this matter would greatly be appreciated.

Hello, I have the 7 inch CST lift. i have 4" spindles, with 3" coils up front. MAKE SURE YOU GET NEW FRONT SHOCKS. I made the mistake and did not put on new shocks when I got the lift and it ran like a tractor. The stock shocks are going to be maxed out and won't have any travel left in them. even if you are just doing the 4" inch lift, I would still get new front shocks. The ride will be way better. Now as far as what shocks to get, i would go with the CST-CSR-1200. Those shocks are designed to work with the 4" inch lift and the 7" (I have the 7"). Just to be safe I would go with those. Plus they're great shocks. I love them. they really absorb bumpiness. I hope this helped and you wont run into the same problem I had. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask me, I would be more than willing to help.

I have the CST 4" spindles on the front with and additional 1" spacer on top of that (5" total front lift). The stock shocks will be fine to use with the spindles. Just my .02, but if you wanted to save some money and wait to get the shocks that you want, the stocks will work just fine.

I had a 2.5" lift spacer on the front before going to the CST kit, and the shocks were pretty much topped out. The CST kit feels MUCH better and smoother than when I had the 2.5" spacer on there. From my experience, It would be safe to run up to 6" total (CST plus 2" spacer) before NEEDING to get shocks. You also dont want to get shocks that are too long, then your opening a whole new can of worms when the suspension components start contacting each other! (that is what I have read, and been told numerous times)
