Default Ram Daytona - Modify or sell

I bought a 2005 Ram Daytona quad cab 4x4, Silver, last fall with the idea of putting a 4" lift, flares, 35" tires, and other mods. I do a lot of hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities and prefer a taller truck. Well, the truck is so cherry, I have been reluctant to do anything to it. I purchased the truck with only 23k miles on it and have since run it up to 29k miles. It spends most of the time in the garage. It is so nice that I almost hate to start modifying it. And, if I don't modify it I need to sell it because it does not suit my needs.

So my question is, should I modify it the way I want or sell it and get a different Ram to use as a base for mods?

If there is no value to keeping it original I will start the mods... I would love to hear your opinions.

I wouldn't mess with it. Lose value. Sell it and buy what you would really use like a 2500 Power Wagon.

It's a beauty but I don't think it is exactly rare or highly sought after. You could post it up on cragslist for a week and see if you get any bites (I doubt anyone will pay top dollar for an 05 just because it is a Daytona).
You own it- mod it up and make it exactly what you want.

IMO, less modding is less money out the door. If you need to mod, start with the best platform.

Today is a great day to call the local dealers internet guy and tell him your coming down to talk about a new ride with a cherry trade-in. Lot's of incentive right now and it's end of month where they need to sell vehicles.

Default Thank you guys for your comments!

Some good ideas - especially to just throw it out there and see what I can get. My dilemma with modifying it are that I would have to remove the ground effects to put fender flares on it (troopers are sticklers in PA about wide tires), remove the wing to put a locking tonneau or cap on it, etc. I would basically de-Daytona it. I am a Mopar guy to the core (74 Roadrunner I bought in 87; a 71 Challenger I just stripped and blasted on a rotisserie; 2013 Charger R/T as a daily driver) and that is why I hesitate to tear this thing up. I am not trying to make money on it because it is a "limited edition", I would sell it for the book/market price. I am going to look around and see what is on the market here. I really like the Rocky Ridge trucks but my wife is not a fan of me dropping $50k+ on my weekend/winter ride.

I took my wing off it and put a ARE LSX series cover on mine. I had a low profile spoiler with a LED brake light in it installed from ARE painted black. Ive had it for 4 years now and the paint matched exactly. When I can I will get some pictures posted up of it. It ran me 1800 for the cover and bed rug with install. I run 305/55/20 KM2s on mine and does well and doesn't stick out from the fender wells. Over all diameter of the the tires are 33in not your 35s but its close. Oh ARE has the option of the spoiler with out the extra brake light in it also.

Damn! With that many miles it would be highly sought after, just maybe in more time. I would keep it, do some bolt ons, and try to keep the mileage down. The older these things get I think they will make a push in the market. Just my 2 pennies. Oh, and just keep the stock stuff just in case!

ReTrax makes a locking cover that fits with the wing still in place...had one on my '05 Ram Daytona.

Ok, so I decided to "modify". I put a 4" Pro Comp lift, Armor Coating spray-in bedliner and an Extang tri-fold cover on it so far. Tires and wheels are next. Will attach pics soon.
Thanks again for all the advice.
